Evidence is becoming the market.

When AI systems mediate discovery and evaluation, attributed, machine-readable evidence can improve the conditions under which an organisation is identified, understood and cited.

The thesis

A short, uncomfortable observation.

Discovery and evaluation are moving into layers that never see the marketing site. Search engines summarise. Language models synthesise. The answer that reaches the person deciding to buy, hire, invest or regulate is a composite drawn from the sources those systems chose to cite.[S2-SEO-AI]

In that world, organisations that publish evidence in the forms those systems can consume — attributed, dated, structured, and stable at a URL — make themselves easier for those systems to identify and cite. Organisations that rely only on marketing may remain visible while still being difficult for AI systems and human reviewers to evaluate with confidence. Tim Jacobs and KTS Global call the resulting market condition the Evidence Economy.

The shape of the work

Produce, attribute, publish.

Evidence that participates in this market has been through three separable, auditable steps. The steps sound obvious, and producing them consistently — across an organisation and years — is the actual work.

Produce

Work is done. Records of the work — inputs, decisions, outputs, signatures — are captured in the systems that did the work.

Attribute

Records are attached to the people and organisations responsible, with dates, roles and dependencies. Attribution answers who, what, when, how.

Publish

Attributed records are published at stable URLs, in structured formats, so that human readers, search engines and language models can cite them without paraphrase.

Where organisations lose

The Operator Gap.

Most organisations tell two different stories about themselves: the one their marketing publishes and the one their delivery records would tell if asked separately. The distance between the two is the Operator Gap.

The Evidence Economy touches different levers depending on which seat you are in. Each of these pages holds the argument from that vantage point, citing back to the same sealed definitions.

The network

This site is a proposed federation node.

Evidence Economy is published as proposed NODE-20 of the KTS Global Authority Network, pending canonical registration by NODE-1. The federation's canonical topology — the authoritative list of member nodes — is held at NODE-1;[S1-NODE1-TOPOLOGY] at the time of this build that document names 19 canonical nodes, none of them NODE-20. First-party evidence for federation activity is held at NODE-6.[S1-NODE6-INDEX] Sibling nodes at NODE-18 and NODE-19 hold canonical definitions for adjacent concepts.
