For CEOs

Positioning is increasingly decided by what shows up when a buyer, investor or regulator looks the organisation up in an AI-mediated discovery layer — a channel a marketing programme cannot serve alone.

Positioning

Evidence is a positioning surface.

Positioning is decided as much by what shows up when a buyer, investor or regulator looks the organisation up as by what the marketing team publishes on the home page. In an AI-mediated discovery layer, the two are increasingly different documents.[S2-SEO-AI] The Evidence Economy is the observation that the difference is starting to matter as a market condition. Read the sealed definition.

A CEO's specific interest in the Evidence Economy is not publishing more content. It is closing the Operator Gap — bringing the record the organisation publishes into agreement with the record its delivery systems could produce if asked separately. Read the Operator Gap definition.

Executive lens

Where the levers actually are.

  • Product. Do product records — signed decisions, dated releases, named contributors — exist in a form that could be published if the organisation chose to?
  • Delivery. Are outcomes attached to the people and systems that produced them, or do outcomes accrue only to the organisation as a whole?
  • Publishing. Is the marketing surface the same as the record surface, or two disconnected documents?
  • Governance. Who inside the organisation owns the discipline that closes the Operator Gap?
